Traction IT is a small consultancy in Toronto. This page says what we collect on this site, why, and where it goes. Short version: you give us an email when you want something from us, and we use it for that thing.
What we collect
You hand us information in three places on this site:
- The brief form: your email and a sentence about your best customer.
- The Traction Memo signup: your email.
- The PowerSell waitlist: your email.
Email us directly and we hold whatever you chose to include. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses and browser details, to run the site and block abuse.
How we use it
Everything we collect serves the thing you asked for:
- Reply to your brief and prepare for the first call.
- Send you the Memo each week, if you asked for it.
- Tell you when PowerSell opens, if you joined the waitlist.
- Look up public information about you and your company, like your website, hiring posts, and funding news, so the first conversation is worth your time.
We never sell your information. We never rent lists.
Where it goes
Form submissions travel to tools we use to run the business. Today that means:
- Resend delivers our email, including form notifications and the Memo.
- Slack notifies us when a form comes in.
- Vercel hosts the site and keeps its server logs.
These providers process data on our behalf, mostly on servers in the United States. As the funnel grows we may add a CRM, an email automation tool, or an analytics tool. Anything we add works under the same rule: it processes your data to do a job for us, and it gets nothing to use for itself.
Email, consent, and unsubscribing
You only get recurring email from us when you asked for it, through the Memo signup or the waitlist. Every message includes a working unsubscribe link. Use it and you are off the list within ten business days, usually the same day. We follow Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation for everything we send.
Cookies and analytics
Right now this site sets no analytics cookies and runs no trackers. If we add analytics later, we will pick a tool that respects visitors where we can, update this page, and move the date at the top.
How long we keep it
We keep briefs and subscriber emails while the relationship is live. Unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information and we remove it from our systems, minus what we must keep for legal or accounting reasons.
Your rights
Ask us any time what we hold about you, and we will show you, correct it, or delete it. Write to contact@traction.it.com. We answer within 30 days.
We handle personal information under PIPEDA, Canada's federal privacy law. If you are unhappy with how we responded, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Visitors from the EU, the UK, and California get the same treatment: access, correction, and deletion on request.
Children
This site is for people running or buying for a business. It is not directed at anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
When our practices change, this page changes with them, and the date at the top moves. Big changes to how we use email get announced in the email itself.
